Music
Looking back at all of this in 2024, I still love music. Since I remember myself, rhythm and melody have felt special.
I still remember the small toy piano my parents bought me when I was five. It only had one octave, which made it simple enough for me to understand how it worked.
Soon I could play simple melodies, and later I moved to a bigger Farfisa with 66 keys, rhythms, and built-in sounds. I remember being able to differentiate instruments early; I loved all sounds, but rhythm had a special pull.
Drums were not an option in my family background, so I settled for piano and air drumming. Eventually I studied Byzantine music and piano, then later taught myself guitar and drums.
I did not turn my back on Byzantine music or piano. I became a professional cantor and pianist, and I taught both for a few years.
I had many musical ideas. Whenever something good came to mind, I would write notes or record a quick sample. I waited too long for perfect equipment, and I regret that now because every limitation can become a sound.
Music and computers are my two passions. Later, when aMUZE received funding, it felt like I could finally combine them into one serious project.
