Pools, Waterfalls And A Fire After Dark

Polilimnio supplied the cold water. The beach supplied the rest of the evening.

The name Polilimnio is almost suspiciously literal: many lakes. Water descends through a chain of green pools, each one presenting a fresh argument for getting wet.

We moved between rock, reeds and small falls while the dog treated the entire landscape as one large drinking bowl.

One of the quieter pools between the falls.

The day kept moving and eventually reached the coast. The dog went back into the water because apparently the earlier supply had been insufficient.

By night there was a fire on the beach. Heat after cold water is a very old technology and remains difficult to improve.

The coast before the fire.

A day can contain waterfalls and a fire without producing a lesson. This one has survived perfectly well as evidence.
