Standing Under Nemouta

The waterfall did most of the talking. I volunteered for the practical demonstration.

Nemouta was the next chapter of the same long day. The path narrowed, the rock became greener and water started appearing from several directions at once.

The place keeps revealing another fall behind the previous one. Eventually observation becomes insufficient and somebody has to get under it.

The invitation became increasingly obvious.

Cold water occupies every nerve at once. It is a highly effective way to suspend unnecessary thought, and the photographs suggest I approved of the method.

After the noise of the falls, the river below felt almost still. We followed it out through roots, stones and the kind of deep green that a camera never quite gets right.

Cold water, then the quieter way out.

I came out awake enough to be annoying again. Excellent result.
